Spiritual Warfare Strategy (Attack)
In games and such, I have never been a man to utilize strategy. I'm not a good chess player, I don't usually win at games. But in the game of cosmic spiritual warfare, it helps to have a strategy. In spiritual warfare it helps to play to win.
One helpful strategy comes from military thinkers. They note even when on the defensive from an attack it helps to regroup and go on the offensive. The offense controls the direction of the fight. Control in battle is good. A good defense is great, a good defense that can regroup into a good offense is better. And the best place to mount an attack is the center of gravity where the battle can be decided.
I notice much of pop-spiritual warfare is overly defensive. Put on the armor of God, read your bible, pray, be watchful. But how can you turn the wait for the assault into an assault? How can you punch a hole through the evil one's power, forces, strategy? How can you become the lion that the devil has to watch for?
The next time you are on the defense in spiritual warfare, you are under attack, try to get a thought of the strongest part of what's after you, or at least the place that keeps their attack continuing. Learn how to adapt on the spiritual battlefield. Don't panic, learn how to turn even your losses into victory by reading the field, adapting to changes, and punching when they expect you to duck.
Here's an example of what I would do. I feel that something is aiming to bring false conviction into my mind. Some sort of sin is being projected onto my thoughts, a sort of false narritve of something I did which I know is false. In that moment I don't want to plead like a baby to Jesus unless I have to. What I want to do instead is how do I make this thing attacking wish it never was created. When you shift from "woe is me," to "I am going to END this thing" your perspective has already shifted to attack. You have shifted from hunted to hunter, or at least civilian to threat. I begin probing for weaknesses or simply believe for a weakness and find one.
If that's not enough to get you started, you need to back to the pure milk of the Word and become strong enough for meat.
